When Seattle Urban Wineries was first established in 2006, the group was composed of a mere four wineries. All four boutique operations were based in south Seattle. Now, in 2025, we’re a group of twenty-four businesses all across the city extending from Lake City in the north down to South Park!
Welcome to the Center of the Universe
Here we are nearly 20 years later and Mansion Creek Cellars is the latest winery member. Founded by Denny and Tina Russell, they recently moved their tasting room to Fremont -also referred to as the “Center of the Universe” thanks to a grassroots PR campaign – after years of operating in Walla Walla. The couple are setting the winery apart from others by specializing in Spanish varieties including Albarino, Tempranillo crafted by acclaimed winemaker Ali Mayfield.
Plan a visit now to the bike friendly district. The tasting room is spacious, and seating is also available on a pet-friendly patio, weather permitting. Make a day or evening of it with fun photo op stops at the Fremont Troll just a couple of blocks north. For the Patches Pals out there, the J.P. Patches & Gertrude statue is within a block. Of course, there’s also the classic “Waiting for the Interurban” sculpture. Not to mention a number of delectable nearby eateries.
We can’t wait for you to visit! Be sure to capture the moment and share your experience on Instagram and/or Facebook and tag us to help us spread the word.
